MATCHING

The following are some considerations when matching: Always taste the tequila prior to creating the match, looking for the tones and notes that are closely related to the dish in question.

Temperature:
This is crucial. Our Herencia de Plata silver is pleasant and develops all its potential at 57 ºF, the aged version should be tasted at 60 ºF, and extra-aged at 64 ºF.

Affinities of the Herencia de Plata family:
Smoked salmon bathed in delicate tarragon vinaigrette with delicate caviar tones will match our silver tequila fortuitously because of its herbal notes such as mint and eucalyptus. Its fruity notes will underscore the smoked notes of salmon, creating an alliance of herbal tones with a great finish.

A medium-cooked Wellington fillet becomes powerful when accompanied by our aged tequila. Its fruity personality, especially peach, apple, vanilla and coconut, will match the crunchy notes of the flaky crust and exalt meat flavors.

The sophisticated vanilla and caramel tones of Crème Brule are heightened when our extra-aged tequila is sprinkled on top. Herencia Histórico with its floral and fruity notes, hazelnut, almond and toasted nut tones in its style will create the perfect finish.

Should tequila be taken straight or mixed with soda?

Personal taste plays an important role in preferences for enjoying tequila. In my opinion, our tequilas are so complex with a very particular style that when drunk straight, they are true expressions of our passion for tequila.
